Who is responsible

Chris Renovation Ltd is the data controller: company 13362197, 125 Ridge Lane, Watford, WD17 4SX, United Kingdom. Contact chrisrenovation6@gmail.com or 07763 758275 about your information.

Project enquiries

We use the contact details, project description, location, budget, preferred dates and optional photographs or documents you provide to answer your enquiry, prepare a quotation and arrange work. This is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract, perform a contract where applicable, and manage correspondence in our legitimate interests. We first save your submitted contact details, project description and other project information, preferred dates, submission date and optional uploads in a private delivery queue on our HostGator hosting account. The queue sends the enquiry directly to our private Chris Renovation customer-management system (CRM), hosted on Cloudflare, and retries if delivery is interrupted. Working copies of uploaded files are kept for delivery and retry and are removed only after the CRM has confirmed receipt. The copies in the CRM and retained enquiry and delivery records follow the retention rules below. Only include information needed to discuss the renovation; avoid identity documents or unrelated private information in photographs.

The owner may use a private connection to ChatGPT, provided by OpenAI, to read relevant CRM records and supported attachments, summarise information and prepare internal draft replies, quotations or scheduling suggestions. Relevant information retrieved through that connection is processed by OpenAI. The owner reviews and approves messages, quotations and dates before they are used; this connection does not automatically send messages to customers.

To help you continue after reloading the contact page, we temporarily save a text draft in your browser tab using sessionStorage. It can contain your contact details, postcode, project and property type, project description, preferred start date, budget and how you heard about us. Photos and your privacy agreement are not saved. The draft expires after 30 minutes without editing and is removed after a successful enquiry submission, when you choose Clear form and saved draft, or when the browser tab session ends. If your browser prevents us from clearing it, we tell you to close the tab. This draft feature does not send the saved values to Google or our email service; enquiry details are sent to us when you submit the form.

Kitchen planners and guide purchases

We collect your email address, requested file, order reference, payment status, amount, dates and delivery records. Stripe collects the billing and payment information needed at checkout. We receive payment confirmation and the details needed to deliver your order; our website does not receive or store your full card number. We use these records to fulfil your request or purchase, provide support and meet applicable accounting obligations.

We record your acknowledgement of immediate digital supply and the version of the terms used. Personal download links provide access to your files; do not share them publicly. MailerLite holds the funnel's contact records, including request or purchase status and marketing preferences. Receiving a requested file or buying a guide does not by itself subscribe you to marketing.

Optional email marketing

Only if you choose the separate, unticked marketing box will we send kitchen tips, market updates and relevant offers. Our basis is your consent. We record the email, time, source and wording/version of that choice. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful use or necessary delivery, order and support messages. An existing unsubscribe is respected even if you later download or buy a file.

We do not use email open-tracking pixels in these kitchen-guide follow-ups. MailerLite may record delivery, link clicks and unsubscribes to operate the service and help us assess relevance. After the introductory sequence, our default is no more than two marketing emails per month.

Optional advertising measurement

Only if you allow Optional marketing in Cookie preferences, we use Google Ads to measure confirmed renovation-enquiry submissions and clicks on our telephone links. This helps us assess advertising performance. A telephone-link click does not establish that a call was completed or that a project is suitable.

Google may receive advertising-click and browser-cookie identifiers, page and event information, browser/device and network information, your consent choice and a random enquiry reference used to avoid counting the same enquiry twice. Our conversion-event code does not send your name, email address, telephone number, project postcode, description, budget or photographs. This integration does not use enhanced conversions, Google Analytics or personalised advertising.

Our basis for this optional website measurement is your consent. The advertising script is blocked until you allow marketing. You can withdraw or change that choice using Cookie preferences at the bottom of the page. This is separate from permission to receive marketing emails and does not affect your enquiry, download or purchase. Withdrawal stops future optional measurement; it does not affect earlier lawful processing. Google is a provider of this measurement; see Google's privacy policy and our Cookie Policy.

Service providers and international processing

Our website hosting provider, HostGator, handles website requests and the private enquiry delivery queue; our email providers handle business correspondence. Cloudflare hosts our private CRM database and uploaded files. OpenAI processes relevant information retrieved through the owner's private ChatGPT connection for the assistance described above. Stripe handles payment processing, fraud prevention and related records. MailerLite handles contact management and consented marketing. We share only information needed for those purposes and do not sell your information. Providers may process information outside the UK; applicable adequacy decisions or contractual safeguards are used where required. You can ask us for details of the safeguards relevant to your information.

Read the providers' information: Stripe privacy notice, MailerLite privacy policy and Google privacy policy for correspondence handled through our Gmail address. See also Cloudflare privacy policy and OpenAI Europe privacy policy.

Security and website technology

We use access controls, protected download links and limited security records to operate the website and prevent abuse, in our legitimate interests. The download forms use a short-lived, hashed network-address record to limit repeated requests. Hosting security logs may include network address, browser information and request times. See our Cookie Policy for browser storage and your choices.

How long we keep information

We keep enquiry and delivery information for as long as needed to handle the request, resulting work, download access and reasonable support needs. We retain transaction and accounting records for applicable legal record-keeping periods, and may retain relevant evidence for complaints or legal claims. Marketing information is kept while we have a valid reason and permission to use it; a minimal suppression record may remain after unsubscribe so that we respect your choice. Records are reviewed for continued need and removed or anonymised when no longer required. Contact us if you want information about the retention of a particular record.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or a portable copy of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can always withdraw marketing consent. We may need to verify your identity and explain any lawful reason for retaining a record. We do not make solely automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
